Inspired by Sir Douglas Mawson’s rather epic tale of survival in Antarctica way back in 1913, I decided to join a short guided expedition in Arctic Norway. So, along with three other hairy British gentleman (including our excellent guide Mike Thornewill) I skied 100 km across the Finnmark plateau in February 2016. It wasn’t that cold, and I loved it. So much so, that I put plans in place for my own expedition in 2017.
You can read more about my first stumbles into polar travel in my blog. Or if you’re feeling lazy I made a short video of our trip.
