Inspired by Sir Douglas Mawson’s rather epic tale of survival in Antarctica way back in 1913, I decided to join a short guided expedition in Arctic Norway. So along with three other hairy British gentleman (including our excellent guide Mike Thornewill) I skied about 100 km across the Finnmark plateau in February 2016. It wasn’t that cold, and I loved it. So much in fact that I put plans in place for my own expedition in 2017.
You can read more about my first stumbles into the polar expedition world in my blog. Or if you’re feeling lazy I made a short video of our trip.
