In July 2009 I cycled 900 km across France. From Caen in the North, to Montpellier in the south.

This was a self-supported 10 day trip, completed alongside my University mate Ant Cluett. We carried all equipment on our bikes, and wild camped as we went.

A primary aim of the trip was to cycle up Mont Ventoux to watch a stage of the 2009 Tour de France (Lance Armstrong’s comeback year). We bivvied close to the finish of the stage, with some 600,000 other cycling fans on the mountain.
